Being present in the body

Being present in the body is not one specific state of being; it’s a spectrum.

Today, I want to talk a little bit about the statement: “Being present in the body.”

For some, it may feel like the most natural thing—something they do every day without effort. But for others, it can feel like a task that is, on some days, hard to accomplish and, on others, seemingly impossible. And that’s okay. Being present in the body is not one specific state of being; it’s a spectrum. It varies from moment to moment and flows like the ocean. At the same time, the disconnection from the body often reveals a deeper story we carry—the story of “It’s not safe to be in the body."

Do you ever notice this story in your life?

In those moments, it’s important to listen. Simply listen and breathe. This is where healing happens. With every second you spend connecting with your body, you gradually activate a deeper sense of safety. And through that, step by step, more pleasure begins to unfold in your life. Connecting with your body doesn't have to be hard or take a lot of your time. Here’s a short embodiment exercise for the holidays—a little magical moment just for you:

Exercice: Coffee Full of Pleasure

Your coffee can be an embodiment practice if you let it.

As you take your first sip, notice how far down your throat you can feel its warmth. With each next sip, imagine yourself melting into your body, flowing down along with the coffee, settling deeply into your belly. Choose a specific feeling you want to embody this morning, and with each sip, imagine that feeling sinking deeply into your body. That’s all you need to do.

One important tip: Truly focus on the sensation—and don’t forget to enjoy! :)

I’d love to hear how you’re doing!

Love,
Alenka
