Life ain’t a quickie

“But sometimes, we wish it was.”

In one of my sessions, I told my client:

I’m not here to give you a quick fix; I’m here to help you find a deep connection. Just as true pleasure isn’t achieved with a quickie, it’s found in the present sensation.

And it got me thinking about how much we all just want to solve our “problems,” move on, and forget they ever happened. We search for that quick fix, forgetting that the very situation, problem, or challenge we face is actually bringing us closer to ourselves and our truth. We’d miss all the wonderful layers of our existence—the lessons, the pit stops that make you pause and say, “Ahh, that’s what it’s all about.”

It reminded me of how I used to wish my services could be a magical solution to whatever problem a client brought to a session. I thought it was an expectation I had to meet. But the deeper I dig, the more I understand: skipping the process and delivering the solution to our doorstep wouldn’t be fair to us. Now I know my method isn’t, and never will be, a magical pill—but it is a powerful tool. That, I’m certain of.

Today, I want to leave you with this:

Whenever you feel the urge to fast-forward your life and blame yourself for not being at the finish line yet, just remember—pleasure is born when you slow down.

Love,
Alenka
